About

MIMAR® SUIT RECOVERY is a suit for dogs and cats that is created as an alternative to the uncomfortable Elizabethan collar, unhygienic bandages and other gadgets such as floats and post-operative dresses.

Indicated for the protection of wounds in post-surgical and/ or post-traumatic recovery processes, it limits your pet’s access to hot spots and therefore prevents possible infections.

MIMAR® SUIT RECOVERY facilitates the control of wounds by reducing the number of veterinary follow-up visits and favoring a faster and stress-free recovery of your pet.

How does it work?

MIMAR® SUIT RECOVERY incorporates a pocket in the neck area where a sheet of semi-rigid material can be inserted, which prevents movement of your pet’s head towards its body, acting as a collar.

MIMAR® SUIT RECOVERY has been designed based on the anatomy of the animal, allowing the perfect fit to the body of dogs and cats.

Elaborated with material of high quality, MIMAR® SUIT RECOVERY is composed of an elastic inner layer that reduces the risk of seroma formation and offers the animal total freedom of movement. The tissue incorporates an antibacterial treatment of SIL2U® + SILCARE A that stimulates healing. Its intermediate layer houses a compressive protective material. The neck area incorporates a pocket to insert a sheet of semi-rigid material that prevents the movement of the animal’s head towards its body, acting as a collar. The outer layer is made of a water-repellent material that preserves moisture and prevents leaks.

MIMAR® SUIT RECOVERY consists of a centerpiece that covers the animal’s chest and abdomen, exposing the upper body area. This piece has several extensions, cranially acting as a collar and towards the middle part and back part acting as a support strap at the height of chest and hip. All of them are equipped with adjustable closure means that a 100% adjustment to the animal, whether dog or cat.

Areas

A > Area where the animal can scratch itself.

B > The animal can scratch itself, but if 1 is crossed with 2, the area is protected.

C > The animal can reach different parts of its body with its mouth.

How to place it?

Start the placement of the suit on the neck 1, the intermediate zone 2 and the final zone 3, adjusting the Velcro closure so that it compresses the wound adequately.

Reinforce the set with bands 4.

100% effective recovery

MIMAR® SUIT RECOVERY is very effective in the post-surgical control of interventions.

Indicated in the conservative treatment of cervical hernias, it avoids the use of Elizabethan collars, saves the need for changing dressings and bandages in wound control, provides comfort to the animal and peace of mind to the owner, allows quick and easy handling by the veterinary professional and can be reused in other occasions, if required.

MIMAR® SUIT RECOVERY has been the subject of a multicenter study with more than 800 clinical cases, based on the opinion of the veterinary professional and owners. Several aspects were evaluated in the trials, such as the management of the garment, the control of the wound, the effectiveness of the harness restraint system, the restriction of the patient’s movement to avoid self-inflicted injury, the formation of seromas and the comfort of the patient.

The management of the garment was positively evaluated in 98% of the cases, including those with more aggressive animals.

Wound control had an excellent result (100% positive evaluation), dispensing with additional dressings and bandages, having the wound protected from chafing and unhygienic environments.

Garment restraint was effective in 95% of the cases and no self-inflicted injury nor seromas were observed in 99% of the animals.

The comfort of the pets was evaluated by their owners with an excellent result in 100% of the cases, as well as the satisfaction of the owner and the veterinarian at the time of placement, review and removal.

THE BRAND

Who invented it?

Mimar® was born in 2013 thanks to the entrepreneurial spirit that characterizes Eulalia Pérez, an experienced veterinarian and surgeon, with the desire to contribute to the welfare of animals, specifically dogs and cats, in the surgical or post-traumatic recovery phase.

“I simply could not suffer the moment when the animal woke up from surgery and we had to place that uncomfortable Elizabethan collar… I thought it was a horror and suffered for that poor animal”
 _ Eulalia Pérez

After a long journey of research, analysis and tests with the best materials and manufacturing techniques, we managed to reach a first prototype of our Mimar® Suit Recovery product. After a test phase in more than 800 clinical cases, we realized that our goal was achieved: allow the animal a quick and comfortable recovery without stress.

In the past six years, Mimar® has managed to develop several orthopedic products for animals that we will soon launch to the national and international market. Always created to protect and promote the welfare of our pets, as well as help their owners in their daily routine and facilitate the work of veterinary professionals.

Isn't it very uncomfortable to permanently wear the rigid collar?

When your pet is monitored the rigid sheet that is inside the neck pocket can be removed.

Can my pet urinate/ defecate with the suit on?

The suit does not prevent any of these physiological functions.

In the case of males, does it have an opening to externalize the penis?

No, the opening is made by the veterinarian or the owner, since the tissue does not fray.

My dog has just given birth, can she feed the puppies with the suit on?

Once the suit is placed, the openings for the breasts are made without problems. We have tested that the suit resists the teeth and nails of the puppies.

Is the full suit necessary if there is a cervical hernia?

We are currently developing a suit without the back part.

Can my pet eat and drink normally?

Yes, both with the rigid collar and without it. It can also walk without problems, run and play outdoors.

If my dog licks its paws, can we avoid it with this suit?

No, since it does not prevent access to the extremities.

Is the suit adaptable for cats?

Cats are very special animals and when we put the suit on, they usually remain immobile. In these cases, we recommend a progressive adaptation by putting it on and taking it off until they adapt. It is important not to use the rigid collar, instead you should place the extra velcro strips included in the bag, from the neck to the back.
